I could go really deep into this here but honestly people on this forum really seem to hate my interpretations of the mythology so I'm just gonna stop. I strongly urge people to delve deep into Hyperion and Theia and a whole new interpretation of so much of Greek mythology will be revealed to you. You could say a lot of these deities are just the divine masculine and the divine feminine being repeated over and over ad nauseum. So much of Greek mythology stems from Hyperion and Theia. He is the illigitmate son of Zeus the king of the gods and Maia, a female Titan he seduced. He is the patron of travelers and thieves, and also conducts the souls of the dead to Hades to be judged. He is a member of the Olympians, a extra-dimensional race once worshipped as a deity by the people of Ancient Greece. Many versions of this male and female pairing exist, whether it be Hyperion and Theia, Hermes and Hestia, Hephaestus and Aphrodite, Adonis and Aphrodite, Hermes and Aphrodite, Ares and Aphrodite.okay look Aphrodite got around but the point is, in pagan mythologies the divine masculine and the divine feminine were the forefathers of all creation so the different cults of the god kings and their god queens get repeated and they share a lot of similarities, or even share each others wives. Hermes is the messenger of the Olympian Gods. Thoth and Ma'at were intercessors for Ra and his wife Sekhmet, OR for Amun-Ra and his wife Mut (the Great Mother deity related to Isis, Hera, Cybele, Gaia, etc). Hyperion and Theia represented Thoth and Ma'at (in my opinion and the opinion of many other historians/scholars - but not all). Pairing with Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth Thoth also has a troubled relationship with Ra in Egyptian mythology so that can also show up in some legends with Helios and Apollo. Therefore that leaves Hermes in an awkward relationship with the God who is now the prophet of the gods in his place and with the sun Helios that Thoth used to help Ra steer across the sky. Apollo's lover Hyacinthus (likely a reference to Hyperion) was buried at the foot of Apollo's statue at Delphi. Hermes is Hyperion/Thoth after the absorption of the solar cult by Apollo. Hyperion is also linked with these things and after Hyperion/Hyacinthus is absorbed by Apollo we get Hermes as the 'rump' Thoth, but he seems to still retain some connection with the older Thoth and Hyperion symbolism.Īpollo absorbs Hyperion (Hyperion = Thoth, Helios-Hyperion = Ra) and leaves Hermes as a rump Thoth. Thoth is linked with crafts, productions, civilization, justice, light, shining, truth, gems, gold, etc. Thoth and Ma'at also judge your soul when you die. Thoth and his sister wife Ma'at (Theia/Metis/Athena in Greek mythology) are the intercessors between man and Ra, receive man's prayers, and deliver Ra's prophecies. Thoth travels with Ra in his solar barge and Thoth 'dies' every night and must be resurrected. Hermes is related to Thoth in Egyptian mythology (also related to Hyperion in Greek mythology).
